Job Purpose

The Junior Financial Accountant NAV will be responsible for providing support to the NAV users and various integration and reconciliation functions relating to the integration of the system software used within Blue Label Distribution in conjunction with the Finance teams, BIPM teams and the NAV service provider, including reconciliations of processed data to transactional systems, processes and tasks as and when required.


The Main Key Responsibility Areas are as follows:

  • Navision functionality including:
    • Monitor system integration processes
    • Clear of NAV system integration exceptions
    • Clear of NAV system integration errors
    • update of customer master records
    • update of vendor master records
    • update of stock master records
    • update of bank master records
    • Import and update of GL account master records
    • Monitor costing method processes
  • Navision user support including:
    • Assist users on system related administrative and technical issues
  • Account Receivable functions including:
    • Daily reconciliation of trade and miscellaneous entries
    • Weekly reconciliation of trade debtors for weekly reporting deadline
    • Monthly reconciliation of trade debtors for monthly reporting deadline
  • Stock functions including:
    • Ensure costing method used in valuation of stock in line with actual costs processed
  • Other
    • Ensure proper issue logging process is followed by all users of NAV
    • Follow up and resolve issues logged with the NAV service provider
    • Follow up and resolve issues logged with BLD TechOps
  • Ensure weekly and monthly reporting deadlines are met
Requirements of the Job
  • 2-3 years relevant experience within finance department
Minimum qualifications
  • Matric Certificate
  • B.Com Accounting Degree /Diploma accounting as a Major (Advantageous)
Competencies / Behaviour
  • Diligent and high attention to detail, able to identify errors and make corrections
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Motivated and resourceful, able to resolve issues completely
  • Excellent accounting / reporting system skills (Navision / IBM COGNOS)
  • Excellent MS Office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong Technical knowledge
