Job Purpose

The regional manager is responsible for the achievement of the sales revenue and key targets, through the management and execution of the blue label distribution strategy in the region.

 

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to execute the BLD sales strategy. This will entail the achievement of the sales revenue and other identified targets through the implementation of the key growth focus areas as identified.

The regional manager is expected to implement and manage the following focus areas as well as any additional that may be introduced with the region:

Hub and Spoke, Main Market Retail and Key Accounts Strategy

  • Manage the implementation of the Hub and Spoke strategy, the Main Market Retail strategy, the Key Accounts strategy and ensure that the key performance indicators are achieved with the required time frames

  Sales Operations

  • Manage the implementation of the sales operations focus areas and requirements (as identified) and ensure that the key performance indicators are achieved within the required time frames.

·         This will include:

  • Sales revenue vs budget
  • Customer base growth vs target
  • Customer retention vs targets
  • Product listings and sales per vs targets in the  identified channels
  • Merchandise placement according to segment standards
  • Promotion implementation as per guideline
  • Customer master data accuracy
  • Customer relationships developed and managed
  • Sales force territory optimization
  • Sales force and technicians vehicle utilization and management 

Device Management

  • Manage the deployment of the devices as per the defined strategy roll out plans  as well as the active management of the devices  according the stock management processes

Resource Management

  • Recruit, manage and deploy all employees to maximize the effectiveness of the regions resourcing requirements
  • Lead, manage and coach all employees, within the region. Implement the performance management requirements as well as drive the BLD values and culture

Training and Development

  • Provide training to employees and equip them with the necessary knowledge using the tools provided. Develop the regions employees capability and skills levels to enable them to successfully implement the BLD sales strategy

Regional Income Statement

  • Manage the regions Income statement to achieve the budget targets

 

Requirements of the Job
Experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a customer facing role is required, with a proven track within the sales environment. 
  • Some familiarity of the BLD business, the products, devices and the business models offered to customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales and the achievement of key performance indicators
  • Demonstrated experience in interacting with customers and dealing with customer requests
  • Proven experience in leveraging product knowledge to enhance the commercials offered to the customer
  • Proven track record in leading and managing a team of direct reports to achieve the key performance indicators
  • A history of applying business skills to problem solving, communicating and executing in the market
Minimum qualifications

Preferably a 3-year marketing/sales diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.

The successful incumbent must have excellent communication skills and present themselves in a professional manner.  They must be willing to work outside of official business hours and be open to relocation and travel.  A strong influencer, the regional manager must show agility in communicating across different organizational levels and departments.  In addition, they must have:

  • A history of honesty and integrity to build and entrench trust both within and outside the business
